Twenty-two more cases of COVID-19 have been reported today. A previously reported case has been determined to be a duplicate, so the total number of county residents who have tested positive for the virus is 1,014.
Dr Josh Ennis, deputy director of health for Humboldt County, described reaching 1,000 cases as a predictable but unfortunate milestone. “The local COVID conditions have worsened rapidly, as in most countries,” he said. “The moment we have all discussed has now come. Our daily actions are more than ever linked to more hospitalizations and deaths. Be reasonable, be kind – show your neighbor what it means to care by following common sense, evidence-based recommendations. “
