Byron Cox, a resident of North Carolina, was in his mobile home in Emerald Isle when the tornado approached. His home was still standing, but his father's was destroyed, he said Thursday.

South Carolina turns to recovery

The mayor of Charleston says the efforts to recover will begin Friday.
