The body of a missing nurse from North Carolina who disappeared over the weekend was found and investigators believe that the offense is "definitely" involved in her death.

Authorities were looking for the emergency nurse and mother of two, 38-year-old Diana Alejandra Keel, who was reported missing by her 18-year-old daughter on Saturday, according to the Nash County Sheriff's Office.

Her car was parked at her home in Nashville, the sheriff's office announced.

Keel's husband, Lynn Keel, said he saw his wife for the last time Friday and that he is now a person of interest in the case, officials said. He did not report his disappearance.

"He said that she was leaving from time to time and that she would be away for a few days," said Nash County Sheriff Keith Stone at a press conference on Wednesday.

Police said on Wednesday that she was aware of the "difficulties" in the marriage.

Lynn Keel was brought to the sheriff's office for interrogation and helps identify Keel's body, which was discovered Tuesday in Edgecombe County. The sheriff's officials said the foul play was "definitely" involved.

"This is a homicide investigation at this time, I do not want to say too much about the details of the case because we are currently investigating." The cause of death was the fact of someone, "Stone said. "There is a killer in freedom."

He said that there were other "people of interest" in the case, but he refused to disclose their names. Her husband was released after being interrogated and was not charged.
