Hwang announced for Soul Calibur 6 and he looks a little different from the last time we saw him

After waiting a few months now to see who would close Soul Calibur 6’s second season pass after Setsuka, the answer is finally here, but not exactly as many expected.

During the Soul Calibur Online Challenge EU West finale, Bandai Namco announced that Hwang will be the next DLC character with a trailer that features a completely different version of the character along with her release date.

The trailer itself starts off rather ominously, as some shadow fighters surround Seong Mi-na and knock her down before she is rescued by none other than … a mysterious masked swordsman wielding a blade. familiar.

It then immediately cuts off the gameplay showing magic spells with a sword that can apparently do anything given that they use it much like a spear and whip as well as spreading the same way as the Ivy’s weapon of choice.

He can also use talismans for a variety of magical purposes, including throwing it for a special boost, placing a trap on the ground, and something that looks like a boost / projectile attack.

If swordplay hasn’t revealed this before, then the kicks should have been a clear indicator of Hwang’s return although they even revised his legs with a Liu Kang-like crazy bike kick. and a Kamen Rider kick for a finisher.

Hwang’s title in SC6 is the ‘Secret Royal Blademaster’ although we don’t really know what that means at this time without his story chapter. Could it be a relationship with Edge Master or is the name just a coincidence?

While he is one of the original Soul Blade characters, this marks the first time Hwang has been a playable character since Soul Calibur 3, which released throughout 2005.

As a former principal of Hwang / Yun-seong myself at the time, I’m not quite sure how to feel the changes, but I’m also more than willing to come back on board as his new box Toolbox looks pretty fun in the trailer.

Besides Hwang, the Character Creation Set F DLC also includes more Tekken customization options for King’s legendary dog, Xiaoyu, Paul and Leroy Smith, Sugar.

The new Motein Pass Ruins stage will be added to the game along with the DLC via a new free content update that includes the classic Seong Mi-na costume and new story chapters for Misturugi and Nightmare.
