The suicide squadIdris Elba has commented on past rumors that he will replace Will Smith as Deadshot for the sequel while it is still in development.

One of the many questions that arose during the creation of the James Gunn film was whether or not the character of Will Smith, who survived the end of the original 2016 film, would return or not. One rumor and one possibility circulating was that the character would be recast with actor Idris Elba. “These rumors would be natural because Will said he would not be joining the second film,” Elba said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “So it was only natural for the audience or the fans to think that I would take over the character of Deadshot because the character of Deadshot lived in the other movie. But I’m really happy that James [Gunn] I didn’t want to do that; I didn’t want to do this. Deadshot is a great character and Will kills him, so I was really impatient for the audience and the fans to keep this rumor going. Surprise!”

Elba’s Bloodsport can now be seen in action after The suicide squad hit theaters and streaming last week. But even with the guardians of the galaxy As the director at the helm of this new R-rated version of DC’s Team of Villains, the film is expected to fall short of box office expectations. The film was aiming for a gross weekend of $ 30 million, although Variety indicated that the film is expected to run out by around $ 5 million with around $ 25.65 million in its first three days.

Now available in both theaters and streaming on HBO Max, The suicide squad currently sits at a 92% Certified Fresh rating on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer, receiving generally favorable reviews from critics and the public.
