If you let COVID-19 alarmists hold you back again, you haven’t learned anything

Here we go again.

The Biden administration Thursday suggested they are considering demanding new lockdowns, business closures and school closings. Using the COVID-19 Delta variant as justification, the Biden administration’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reversed itself on Tuesday and told Americans that the vaccination would not prevent them from wearing a mask again.

On Wednesday morning, the vaccinated staff of the White House masked themselves again. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi directed U.S. Capitol Police will arrest staff and visitors who fail to comply with their mask-for-all mandate.

With other cities that will surely follow, Washington, DC require everyone, vaccinated or not, to wear masks indoors from Saturday. Los Angeles County was ahead of schedule, breaking with then-CDC guidelines two weeks ago to require residents to wear masks indoors, regardless of their immunization status.

California is requiring state employees and even private healthcare workers to get vaccinated or have weekly COVID-19 tests. New York does the same for state workers, and Biden announced a similar mandate for federal workers.

Mask warrants are back in the Defense Department, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky called vaccine passports ‘the way forward’ and CNN’s Don Lemon says you shouldn’t be able to go to work or even at the “supermarket” without getting vaccinated.

You didn’t think your ruling punters were finally starting to recognize their hypocritical mandates and that ineffective lockdowns didn’t help, did they? Or that the COVID-19 vaccine, presented as a magic elixir to save us from our selfish self and in love with autonomy, was going to make the takeover disappear?

“Cheat on me once, shame on you – cheat on me twice, shame on me,” the saying goes. Almost a year and a half ago, when panicked politicians shut down the country in response to the spread of COVID-19, most of us gave them the benefit of the doubt. “Two weeks to stop the spread” wasn’t that long, was it?

When two weeks turned into months (and in some states, over a year!) Some of us started pushing back and asking questions. If the goal was to slow the spread until we got a better understanding of the virus and overwhelmed hospitals could equip themselves, why did we need to keep everyone locked up when nearly all hospitals were empty and we have learned that the virus was comparable to a bad flu for most demographics ages?

In addition, the closures destroyed the economy and closed schools left millions of children behind for life. They weren’t maintaining the virus either, so why was anyone claiming they always help? Meanwhile, Anthony Fauci and company have vowed that little blue pieces of paper on our faces will protect us all, after telling us at the start of the pandemic that they won’t help and we shouldn’t be wearing them.

When vaccines became available, the rationale for returning to normal became even more evident. People who wanted the vaccine could get it, and those who preferred to try their luck with COVID-19 should have been able to do so.

As soon as President Biden took office, oh, did the tone change. The new administration happily took credit for the vaccine developed under the Trump administration (which Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris were keen to question skeptically during the campaign). The 70-year-old president was the harbinger of a return to normalcy, dammit, and talking heads blew champagne corks.

But a real return to normal would mean letting go of the power journey that has come of telling an entire country how to live, or not to live, its life, until it has to wear and how it has to breathe. So Biden, Pelosi, Democratic governors and unelected CDC henchmen want to send you into the second round of insane COVID-19 terms.

You could be forgiven for naively accepting the first round of arbitrary blockades, even though they far exceeded the power one of their supporters ever should have possessed. “I don’t see the logic, but I’d rather make temporary sacrifices to keep people safe than risk hurting anyone,” America’s most compassionate and neighborly Americans have said.

But as lockdown tyrants like California Governor Gavin Newsom, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio (all Democrats) continued to get caught breaking their own rules, sane people began to be justly suspicious.

As the lockdowns continued and even the availability of effective vaccines and therapeutic treatments was not sufficient to quell the media panic, these sane people became more than suspicious. We were outraged at the endless denial of our freedom – and our competence – to make our own decisions.

If you weren’t in this crowd the first time around, you should be now. Prepare yourself, because corporate media alarmists and power-addicted politicians aren’t going to give up their newfound power to tell you if you can go to work, what to put in your body, or what to wear on your face.

They deserve endless shame for pushing back the first year of confinement. But if you still let them get away with it, you should be ashamed too.
