“If you’ve recently traveled to Provincetown, get tested for COVID-19; Popular Cape Cod Town Sees Rise in Positive Infections

Crowds of people flocked to the north end of Cape Cod to spend Independence Day in Provincetown, a popular summer spot. The following week, some of these people will report a runny nose, cough, and shortness of breath.

City Manager Alex Morse told WBZ-TV: “We are aware of a handful of positive COVID cases reported in the past few days among people who have spent time in Provincetown.”

Morse told the news station he was monitoring the data with the Department of Health and Outer Cape Health Services.

New England residents who traveled to Provincetown took to Twitter to report their symptoms and positive COVID test, urging others who made it to the seaside to get tested as well:

“I am one of those revolutionary cases reported in Provincetown. Thank you for staying masked! Vaccines are not 100% effective against new strains of covid. But thanks to the vaccine, my symptoms are mild. #VaccinesSaving lives #Hide” – mentionned @isaacwebster on Twitter.
