In 2024, 13 and 17-year-old broods will cover the north and south of the state in the event of life for entomologists – and for insects. There isn’t much overlap between the northern Brood XIII, a 17-year-old group, and the Brood XIX, 13-year-old cicadas. But if they meet, they can hybridize.
