PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) – A measles contagious Illinois traveler may have exposed people at the Portland International Airport and in Marion County, according to the Oregon Health Authority.
Health officials said the person had not been vaccinated and had recently spent time in countries where measles was common.
The traveler was at Portland International Airport on February 22nd. Possible places, dates and times of exposure are:
- Youth on Mission, 7085 Battle Creek Road S.E., Salem, 7:00 pm, February 18 at 1 pm February 22nd.
- Take Air Trampoline Park, 3910 Rickey St. S., Salem, 13: 45-17h. the 21st of February.
- Red Robin, 831 Lancaster Dr. N.E., Salem, 12:30 – 30:30 21 February.
- Portland International Airport: Southwest Airlines and Hall C check-in area, 12:30 to 17:00 22 Feb
The Oregon Health Authority is working with Marion and Multnomah counties to inform people of their potential exposure and help them take action to avoid exposing others if they become ill.
This case is not related to the measles outbreak in Clark County, which counts up to 68 confirmed cases, nor to the recent measles declaration in Multnomah County.
Most Oregon have been vaccinated against measles and their risk is low, according to OHA, but the risk may be higher for unvaccinated people.
Health officials urge people who are not immune, who have been exposed and who have symptoms of measles to avoid going to a medical center immediately. Instead, call a health care provider or emergency care center over the phone to create an entry plan that avoids exposing others to waiting rooms.
