Classy leggings and bra tops have long been symbols of "athletics", which has dominated the fashion industry in recent times. According to researcher Rajiv Grover, the trend is now pushing consumers to adopt extreme measures to maintain the body spirit, while British data reveal a 12% increase in the number of liposuction procedures – from 2,039 in 2017 to 2,286 in 2018.

US data show a similar trend: according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), liposuction procedures increased by 5% between 2017-2018, with approximately 12,000 more in just one year.
