(MENAFN – NewsBytes) Karnataka's former HD Kumaraswamy CM has fueled controversy on Thursday by accusing Prime Minister Modi of "bringing misfortune" to scientists at the Indian Space Research Organization.

Mr. Kumaraswamy remarked that once Prime Minister Modi set foot in IISROCenter, he "turned out to be a bad omen".

On September 6, Prime Minister Modi traveled to the center of Bengaluru to witness Vikram Lander's soft landing.

Modi wanted to take all the credit: Kumaraswamy

Kumaraswamy said that Prime Minister Modi had gone to the center of ISRO only to obtain credit for the historic Moon mission.

The JD (S) leader pointed out that it was the joint efforts of the UPA government and scientists in 2009 that launched the Chandrayaan-2 project.

Kumaraswamy also took action against his successor, BS Yediyurappa, claiming he was "helpless" in front of the Center on all fronts.

For the uninitiated, in the wee hours of September 7th, a few minutes before landing on the moon, Vikramlost contacts ISRO.

ISRO chief, K Sivan, then informed the press that Vikram was only 2.1 kilometers from the moon when he lost contact.

A successful landing would have made India the fourth nation to land on the moon after the United States, Russia and China.

Meanwhile, NASA and ISRO have joined hands to contact Vikram

ISRO is constantly trying to restore contact with Vikram and has already located it on the lunar surface.

Even NASA has now joined ISRO to make contact with the latest spacecraft.

Every day that passes, the ability to contact Vikram fades because the lunar probe has a lifespan of only 14 days.

It only stays a week now!
