Honda Motor Company unveiled the facelifted version of the Jazz sedan in May 2017 in Japan. The new version of Jazz was rumored for India 's entry into the holiday season last year while Honda did not launch it. Reports then said that Honda is not keen to bring the new Jazz here and it plans to focus on WR-V instead. However, new reports claim that Honda Cars India will launch the new Jazz in India soon.
An article in Autocar India states that Honda Cars India will launch the new Jazz by the end of the month. Being a mid-life facelift, the new Jazz gets subtle style updates. The luxury sedan now has a pronounced front grille and a slightly larger logo. The headlight design has been retouched and the front bumper and fog lamp position have been modified to adapt to overall changes. 2018 Jazz gets newly designed alloy wheels and ORVM cover in black color. At the rear, the LED taillights will be slightly redesigned. The rear bumper has also been reworked and now has more black elements, thus extending the sporty appeal.
The basic interior layout should be taken over in the new Jazz. The Japan-spec model was unveiled with the option of a black-brown leather interior, with brown skin on the seats, door cards and steering wheel. The model can also follow in India. The new version can receive automatic headlights and an updated infotainment system.
The current version of the Jazz sedan in India is equipped with a 1.2 liter i-VTEC petrol engine developing a power of 90 hp and a torque of 110 Nm at 4800 rpm. The other option of the engine is the 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel with a power of 100 hp and a torque of 200 Nm.
The new Honda Jazz will take the wheel of the newly renovated Hyundai Elite i20 and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno on the Indian market
