In other nostalgic news about controllers, Nintendo recently announced a pair of NES controllers for the Switch. These controllers can be connected to the switch as a pair of Joy-Con. However, this feature is only for charging because the controllers are not designed to work properly in portable mode. Unfortunately, these controllers are also only compatible with certain NES games via Switch Online. Therefore, you need Switch Online to get the most out of these controllers.
