BHEL Q1 double net profit at Rs 156 crore; Co meets the estimates of the street

NEW DELHI: BHEL announced Wednesday a near doubling of its net profit to Rs 155.58 crore for the June quarter, which was largely in line with Street's estimates. This is against Rs 80.82 crore earnings the company said in the corresponding quarter last year.

The business figure for the quarter increased 8.12 percent year-over-year to Rs 5,790.08 crore against Rs 5354.82 crore in the previous year's quarter.

Margins for the period under review were 4.9%, up 120 basis points from 3.7% in the same quarter of last year.

The company will hold an hour-long conference call at 4 pm later in the day, where the chairman and MD Atul Sobti, director of finance, Subodh Gupta, and other members of the company, will be in charge. management team will talk about the results of the June quarter.

Basic EPS for the company rose to 42 paise in the June quarter of 22 paise in the June quarter of last year.
