Ashok Leyland up 4% thanks to solid July sales

The shares of Ashok Leyland rose by more than 4% on Wednesday due to the strong sales reported by the company for the month of July 2018.

Total sales in July 2018 jumped 27% in 15199 units compared to 11,981 units in July 2017.

Sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (CMVs) increased by 22% to 10,996 units against 9,026.

Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) increased 42% to 4,203 units as against 2,955 units [19659002] The company had recorded a net profit of Rs 370 crore for the quarter ended June 2018, compared to Rs 111.2 crore for the same quarter in 2017.
