Tata Motors unveiled the Harrier exterior, a flagship SUV of the brand. Although Tata Harrier's specifications are fully revelated in December, here are some new details for the multimedia discs:

  Harrier 1

According to CarDekho, the Tata Harrier will have several main functions . The SUV will offer a cool glove box integrated into the front armrest, a rather unique feature. Storage areas for smartphones are another major feature of the segment. The SUV will also have a rotary selector to select different driving modes, as well as select Terrain Response functions on variants equipped with AWD.

The Tata Harrier will be the most expensive vehicle of the manufacturer and will be placed above the Hexa. . Unlike the Hexa 3-in-7 configuration, the Harrier will only offer two rows of seats in a 5-seat configuration. Harrier prices should be between 15 and 20 lakhs. This will put the SUV between the Hyundai Creta and the Jeep Compbad in terms of positioning. Even the Mahindra XUV500 will be a potential Harrier rival.

 Harrier 3

As far as machinery is concerned, the Tata Harrier will be powered by a 2-liter turbocharged diesel engine from Fiat. This engine should be offered in 140 Bhp-320 Nm version. Tata Motors will offer multi-drive modes with this engine that will get 6-speed manual transmissions and 6-speed torque converters. The automatic transmission will be from Hyundai.

In terms of transmissions, the front wheel drive layout is standard in most variants, while the top trim offers all the provisions of all-wheel drive with a Terrain Response system. The Harrier is based on a low-cost variant of the Land Rover D8 platform. Tata Motors calls this platform OMEGA, and several new SUVs of the brand will use this platform in the future. This includes a larger Harrier brother (7 seats).

Tata Motors will soon be making the Harrier consistent with upcoming Bharat Stage 6 emissions standards, although it is not clear whether BS6 compliance will be made upon launch of the SUV, which is intended to beginning of January 2019. The SUV will comply with the new crash test standards of the Bharat New Car Safety Assessment Program (BNVSAP). Dual airbags, ABS sensors and reverse parking will be standard safety features.
