Google Duo: here's how to get rewards up to 9,000 rupees

Among the countless applications available on Android, the most popular ones may be those directly from Google. Apps like Gmail, Google Maps and YouTube are used almost daily by almost all Android users. However, some Google applications (and by extension, services) are not very popular, such as Duo.

Google Duo was launched more than two years ago and soon replaced Hangouts in the Google suite. the applications that OEMs need to install on all Android smartphones. However, despite these efforts and the constant improvements made by Google to the application, Duo did not get the attention it hoped for.

However, Google is not ready to give up. In order to encourage more people to use Duo, Google has announced a rewards program in India. This comes just a few months after the launch of a similar program in the Philippines.

The process is simple. If you're already a Google Duo user, you can invite other users to join Duo via a single invitation link. If a user signs up for the service (with a phone number never used for Duo) with the help of your invitation link, you will both receive a cash reward.

To get started, launch Google Duo and head over to Invite friends -> Share invitation link. It should be noted that the option will only be visible if you are eligible for the rewards program. Then choose a contact in your contact list and press the 'Send' option. If the other person is not in your contact list, you can access Share Link -> Send to transfer the unique link.

Google Duo warns you when you win a reward. To use it, your Google Account must be connected to Duo: the reward money (paid as a digital scratch card worth Rs 1,000) will be deposited into your bank account. To do this, you must have a UPI-enabled savings account with the Google Pay service.

According to Google's terms of use, an individual can earn up to Rs 9,000 in cash during a fiscal year (from April 1 to March 31). The offer is accessible to everyone in India, with the exception of the residents of Tamil Nadu state.
