This is what usually happens when a big carrier issues a holiday [in this case, a partial holiday of Holi] and this also on a Thursday; there is a big drop coming the next day. Well, that's not really the case for Kesari, who performed well on Friday and reported as much as Rs. 16.70 crore. The film had collected Rs. 21.06 crore the day of its opening and considering that the food is already good.
The film has a weekend and since Friday being a business day, the audience marches were relatively low during the morning and afternoon broadcasts. Of course, the evening and night shows were much better with the final result: the film has collected its results.
All eyes are now on the collections coming Saturday. The film does not really have any competition around it, which means that the field is wide open for its 3,600 screens to occupy a good occupation. At a minimum, we could expect the number of participants to exceed that of the opening day, but nothing more means a very good result.
The starrer Akshay Kumar collected Rs. 37.76 crore up here and as long as Rs. 60 crore would definitely be crossed today, a higher number would make sure that the week-end -end extended is in the order of Rs. 85-90 crore at the box office.
