The negative characters of our main ladies on the small screen have always been very seductive. Whether it's Komolika from Kasautii Zindagii Kay or Ramola Sikand from Kahin Kisi Roz, these ladies have given us many reasons why we like to hate them! Vampires bring these interesting twists in television shows, they add masala to the life of the protagonists and make their lives a hell, gaining in return a lot of public disgust. The elegant roles of gray are important and often have more attention than the simple and docile bahu (protagonist).
Let it be accepted, without the vampires, our television shows would become a little boring. As a tribute to these prominent ladies who take a negative hue on the small screen, we are going to pit a very popular antagonist against a new vamp. We are talking about Maya Mehrotra of Beyhadh, performed by Jennifer Winget and Janhvi Mittal of Ek Bhram-Sarvagun Sampanna, performed by Shrenu Parikh. While defending the negative advantage, the two actresses have already received praise for their positive representations.
Maya Mehrotra – Jennifer Winget
Jennifer Winget was the soul of Beyhadh and directed the series with her presence. Jennifer set a benchmark by playing the role of a very possessive and obsessed business woman by her lover Arjun (Kushal Tandon), who would go out of her way to marry him. Beyhadh was aired in 2016 and Jennifer's talents won a lot of hearts. She would quickly pbad from Maya cruel and disturbed to a fragile and frightened Maya in a few seconds. His natural talent kept the viewers hooked on the show. A good thing despite its antagonistic nature was its elegant look – simple but elegant. She wore whites more often and kept a minimal air. It was a refreshing change from the immense bindis and heavy makeup vamps of the past. News is Beyhadh returns with Season 2 and Jennifer should be selected again.
Janhvi Mittal – Shrenu Parikh
The novice vamp, Shrenu does a remarkable job as Janhvi. She plays the role of an ideal daughter-in-law, who has an ulterior motive to kill all members of the Mittal family. The specials of Ek Bhram-Sarvagun Sampanna have caught the eye. Usually, the bahu is supposed to be the shy but fierce lady who would strive to protect her family. However, Janhvi Mittal is the same, but only for those who do not know his evil side. She is a wolf disguised as a sheep. So, what brings change? The secret of his vengeance would be revealed slowly as the show progressed. It's barely a week since the show was aired, but Shrenu's portrayal of the character is already winning hearts. Shrenu's gaze was also very popular with the audience. We are back with traditional jewelry and a thick makeup, but that's what defines Janhvi's character.
Ramola Sikand (Sudha Chandran) of Kahin Kissii Roz, Komolika Basu (Urvashi Dholakia), Kasautii Zindagi Kay, Jigyasa Walia (Ashwini Kalsekar) Kasam Se, Mandira (Mandira Bedi) and Payal (Jaya Bhattacharya) of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Dr. Simran (Rupali Ganguly) of Sanjeevani, Tapasya (Rashmi Desai) of Uttaran, Kalyani Devi or Dadisa (Surekha Sikri) of Ammaji (Meghna Malik) of Na Aane Iss Des Laado, are among the most hated vamps but the most in love with the small screen. And it looks like Janhvi Mittal and Maya have joined the league of these super villains of the small screen.
Who won your heart as a supreme vamp? #JenniferWinget #ShrenuParikh #beyhadh #EkBhramSarvagunSampanna
