A 48-year-old film distributor was killed after losing control of his motorcycle and hitting a pole on Cunningham Road Sunday night.
The deceased, Ajay Chandani, is the son of Pal Chandani, distributor of Hindi Films who died a year and a half ago. Ajay was head of the film distribution business. He resided at Abshot Layout near Sankey Road. He leaves behind his wife and daughter.
High Ground traffic police said that Ajay was heading home Sunday night. After entering Cunningham Road, he lost control of the vehicle and struck a pole on the sidewalk. Ajay was wearing a helmet, but was suffering from internal injuries.
After being beaten for two hours to survive at the hospital, he was pronounced dead around 8:10 pm.
Police are waiting for the autopsy report.
