Gurugram: While the number of patients with diarrhea does not seem to be decreasing in Gurugram, a sudden spike is expected in the number of vector-borne diseases such as dengue, chikungunya and malaria. According to sources, there are more than 10 suspected cases of dengue fever. However, none of them was found to be positive.
Tuesday, senior officials of the district administration came together to design measures to deal with the outbreak of diseases. The large-scale construction activities taking place in Gurugram have proven to be a challenge in the fight against vector-borne diseases such as dengue and malaria. With most of these sites having poor drainage facilities, water can still be found stranded in these locations, making it ripe for larval growth. In addition to construction activities carried out by private builders, large-scale development activities are also underway to redevelop the city's infrastructure in various parts of the city. On most of these sites, large pits are dug in the early stages of construction, resulting in the storage of water.
The administration still faces the problem of cases of diarrhea that does not seem to mitigate.
