Airtel is said to have reduced the benefits of data on its Rs. 149 and Rs. 399 prepaid packs just a month after bringing up to 2.4 GB of daily data supply. The latest move once again paved the way for Reliance Jio to attract new subscribers. Earlier this month, the New Delhi-based phone company improved its Rs. 399 pack which was followed by the revised Rs. Pack 149 which received 2 GB of daily data limit for some subscribers. Jio, on the other hand, offers 1.5 GB of data per day with its Rs. 149 and Rs. 399 packages that come with 28 days and 84 days validity, respectively. This doubles through the Double Dhamaka offer that ends this Saturday.
According to a TelecomTalk report, Airtel no longer offers the benefits of 2 GB of daily data with the Rs. 149 prepaid packs and 2.4 GB of daily data with the Rs. 399 pack. The company would rather have returned the packages to the previous offers. This means that the Rs. 149 pack by Airtel now comes with 1GB of data per day for 28 days, while the Rs. The 399 pack offers 1.4GB of data benefits for 84 days to some subscribers. Some subscribers would have even received the reduced validity of 70 days with the Rs. 399 pack
Initially, it seems that the new update is available for some subscribers because we have not been able to spot the Rs. 149 pack at the time of filing this story, although the list of Rs. 399 pack on the Airtel website showed the advantages of reduced data.
Despite the reduction in data benefits, Airs Rs. 149 and Rs. 399 packs still offer unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day. The new update should not have a negative impact on subscribers who already use one of the two packs in question.
It is interesting to note that Ateltel would have decided to reduce the benefits of the data on two of its packs, Reliance Jio. , which is currently the hardest competitor in the telecom industry, is persuading a large number of subscribers through its Double Dhamaka offer valid until Saturday. The operator under the offer provides users with 1.5GB additional data benefits on a daily basis.
