Android 9.0 Pie update tracker: List of Xiaomi phones with the latest Google operating system

[ad_1]

Google's latest mobile operating system, Android 9.0 Pie, is still missing in the latest switchboard, but many OEMs promise upgrade this year or early in the year next. Xiaomi is one of many Android manufacturers to deploy Android Pie on older phones, but its users do not know when and if the update is available.

Xiaomi finally released a list of devices compatible with Android 9.0. Pie from here the end of this year. Xiaomi has already updated its Mi MIX 2S, Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer for Pie OS and the company now indicates that the Mi 8 Pro, Mi 8 SE and Mi Max 3 will receive the latest software by the end of 2018. These phones are expected to get at least the beta version of the new OS, but also probably the stable version in the coming months, reported GSMArena.

The list also lists the other Xiaomi phones that will receive the Android Oreo update. Xiaomi Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus and Mi 5X will receive Android Oreo in the fourth quarter of 2018. Note that most devices in the list, including the Mi 5, Mi 6, Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2 series , the Mi Note 3 series has already been upgraded to Android Oreo.

Even though the Xiaomi announcement is excellent new for its users, this list is exclusive to phones running the MIUI Chinese ROM. We can not be sure of the release of MIUI Global ROM at about the same time.

The list of Xiaomi Android update roadmaps is not accurate for the Indian market. For example, the Mi MIX and Mi Mix 2 have been updated for Android Oreo, but Indian users are still looking for Pie's predecessor.

But Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 (Redmi 5 Plus in China) has already received Android Oreo and the Redmi 5 should soon be upgraded. Both phones have not yet been updated in China. This shows that Xiaomi works differently in the way it publishes software updates in India and China.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 should also receive Android Pie next month. This is not surprising since the Mi A1 is part of Google's Android One program and is eligible for quick updates.
