BMW Motorrad India took its sweet time but eventually launched the BMW G 310R and the BMW G 310GS with prices starting at ₹ 2.99 ₹ lakh. The G 310 R and the G 310 GS are the smallest motorcycles, in terms of size and displacement, out of the BMW stables. The BMW G 310 R is a naked streetfighter while the BMW G 310 GS is an entry-level adventure bike. Both bikes are manufactured in the TVS factory in Hosur, near Bengaluru and are already exported to markets around the world. The BMW G 310R was presented for the first time in India at the Auto Expo 2016 and again at the 2018 Auto Expo alongside the BMW G 310GS with the promise that these bikes will be launched in India this year.

Both Motorcycles use the same single cylinder 313cc liquid-cooled 34hp engine at 9,500rpm and a maximum torque of 28Nm at 7,500rpm. The 6-speed gearbox is shared between the two bikes as well as the cycle parts and the chbadis. The BMW G310R boasts a top speed of 145 km / h while brother GS can reach a maximum of 143 km / h.
