BSE and NSE closed today because of Diwali Balipratipada

The BSE and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) are closed to trading on November 8, 2018 due to Diwali Balipratipada. All wholesale markets, including metal and bullion, are also closed.

Foreign exchange and commodities futures markets will also not engage in any type of transaction.

Nifty ending just under 10,600, while the Senbad closed 245 points higher. Significant purchases were seen among mid caps and the Nifty Midcap Index closed the session by about one percent more.

Traders have been looking to bet on all sectors, as all sectors of Senbad and Nifty have finished in the green. The automotive, banking, consumer, computer and metals sectors were the main winners.

The Nifty was not very well stocked with photography, with only two stocks ending in red: Axis Bank and Zee Entertainment. The sale under these two names also took place in the last minutes of the transaction, in an otherwise positive session.

At the close of trading, the Senbad posted 245.77 points, or 0.70% to 35237.68, while the Nifty closed up. 68.40 points or 0.65% to 10598.40. The shares of M & M, Infosys and HPCL were the biggest winners, while Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel and Zee Entertainment lost the most.
