Dolph Ziggler is no longer in Raw since his loss to Drew McIntyre in a steel cage show at the 12/28 performance. However, he has participated in numerous WWE games, including Finn Balor and Drew McIntyre in triple threat games. His last match at a live event had been on 1/20.

According to his comments to journalist Chris Van Vliet, Ziggler is on WWE break. He specifically stated that he would not participate in the Royal Rumble match.

"Technically, I'm still under contract, yes, but I'm not supposed to be at the Royal Rumble," Ziggler said. "For the moment, I'm on a break with WWE. It took me about 10 years to take a weekend and that's it. So we'll see where it's going. As I said, we have a bargaining agreement that is different from what is written. I have given everything and we will see if there is more to do, I will be happy to be part of it.

Ziggler also commented on the possibility of signing with the new promotion, All Elite Wrestling.

"I would not say that I would be the next big signing, I would say that I would be the great signature I should say. But there are other things going on right now, but that should always be an option for anyone, especially someone like me, who has been around for a long time and, as Drew McIntyre says, I may have rolled over his basques and I have to go outside here. So we never know. I think it would be great, I think it would be a great addition to this company, which seems to be for true wrestlers who love sports and business. It's a good idea.
