With a view to expanding its presence in the United States, HMD Global – the Finnish company that sells the Nokia brand – is recruiting a team, according to media reports.

According to some job offers on LinkedIn, HMD Global is seeking to hire an e-commerce leader to deal with its online distribution partners like Amazon and Best Buy.

He needs a technical account manager to handle customer requirements, PhoneArena said late Thursday. Most of HMD's Nokia smartphones available in the United States belong to the mid range, which would have made Xiaomi a fierce competitor, "the report says.

According to the job offers, the company also needs a leader, to dialogue with carriers and decide on a roadmap anticipating market trends.

Without the help of operators, Nokia smartphones will have struggling to compete with the likes of Samsung, LG, and Motorola, who have long-standing partnerships with all operators in the country, said PhoneArena.
