Today at Kasautii Zindagii Kay, recently released from prison, Prerna brings home a mysterious guest, to the dismay of Basus. Elsewhere, Sharmas are worried about her.
In the previous episode, Komolika was furious to learn that Anurag had met Prerna in prison. Later, a discouraged Veena is offered consolation when she receives a helping hand. Prerna arrives at Basu Bari where Nivedita and Komolika are shocked to see her. Anurag and Anupam also wondered how Prerna had managed to get out of court. Komolika asks Prerna how she managed to come when she was heard by a court and accused her of leaving the prison, as this was the only possibility that would allow her to come to Basu Bari. Komolika threatened to call the police for Prerna to be arrested again when Prerna stopped Komolika and told him how she had bought the police to let her go. Nivedita and Komolika were wondering how Prerna had managed to corrupt the police while she was not coming from a wealthy family. Komolika was curious to know how Prerna had managed to break free while Anurag was asking how Prerna had managed to escape.
Prerna tells Anurag that some people have always volunteered to help people when they see them fighting for the truth. Anurag tried to dig deeper and explained to Prerna that no one is helping anyone for no reason, yet Prerna rejects her objection and tells her that every time she learns of the person's intention, she will look into the question. Prerna also tells Anurag how this person needed Prerna's help to solve his problems. Anurag wanted to know who this person was and became impatient to know the truth. Prerna told him that there was someone who turned out to be a better partner for her than Anurag was. Seeing Prerna beating around the bush, Anurag rushed out to see who accompanied him to Basu Bari. Meanwhile, Prerna mocks Komolika and asks her why Anurag is eager to know who she is. Komolika tells Prerna to stop playing her wits games with her because Anurag was her husband while Prerna was nobody.
Prerna explains to Komolika how she learned why she could find Anurag in her life, claiming that Anurag was behind the money and power that Komolika could give her. Anurag comes back and tells everyone that there was no one outside. Seeing Anurag's impatience, Prerna explains to Anurag that the person who helped her was someone who would shock him. She calls the person and asks him to come to Basu Bari because Anurag and Komolika wish to meet him. The man agrees to come and leaves for Basu Bari. Prerna told Anurag that the man loved Komolika and Anurag a lot and that he knew them very well. The man then presents himself as Vikrant and Anurag gets furious to see him in Basu Bari. Vikrant comes and tells Anurag that he will not let Anurag forget him. Anurag warned Prerna not to trust Vikrant, although Vikrant told him that she was with Vikrant as with Komolika.
Vikrant confronts Komolika and tells him that she told him that the scores should always be settled between two people. Vikrant leaves the house Basu and asks Prerna to meet him for a business at 3 pm Later, Komolika asks Prerna how she got to know Vikrant and who helped her. Prerna warned Komolika to be wary of her as she was on her hit list.
