Kawasaki Versys 1000 abandoned in India: the reasons that led to this farewell of Kwacker

[ad_1]

The Kawasaki Versys 1000, which was the star of Japanese tourism, is no longer on sale in the Indian market. When Express Drives spoke to some dealers, they confirmed that the bike has not arrived at their dealerships for a few months. Kawasaki India has removed the Versys 1000 from their official website which clears the air of doubt. The demand of the Kawasaki Versys 1000 among the customers was not sufficient in the market and that is the reason why the company decided to remove it from the shelves. In addition, the Versys 1000 has failed to attract buyers to more powerful options and features such as the Triumph Tiger and Honda Africa Twin. The Kawasaki Versys 1000 was on sale in India at a price of Rs 13.28 lakh (ex-showroom) and focused more on long distance tours.

Watch our Honda Africa Twin video review here:

The Kawasaki Versys 1000 Powered by a 1,043cc inline four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed gearbox, producing 120 horsepower and 102 Nm of torque. In terms of equipment, the motorcycle comes with parts like Kawasaki traction control and two driving modes. Braking was done using two 310mm disc brakes in front and a single 250mm disc brake on the rear. Two-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) was also offered as standard for safer braking.

If you had the intention of buying a Versys 1000 specifically for touring, you should not be disappointed selling the Ninja 1000 which is a good sport tourer. The Kawasaki Ninja 1000 also costs much less than the Versys 1000 at a price of Rs 9.9 lakh (ex-showroom) and is the most affordable litter bike currently on sale in India. As there is no ADV of the current clbad in the lineage of Kawasaki, it is possible that the company reintroduces the Versys 1000 in India with the latest gadgets in order to compete with its rivals with more confidence.
