Kiara Advani: When you wonder about your abilities, you also open the door to other people. Hindi movie news

Up to now, Kiara Advani has had a busy year. Although she is soon starting to shoot for Shershaah, Laxmmi Bomb and Indoo Ki Jawani, she has two films in preparation this year, starting with Kabir Singh with Shahid Kapoor, followed by Good News with Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh. The actress, who is now in a happy space, says that she feels like a student waiting for the results of the exam. Then we go to Kiara, who talks about the management of the rejection, the penetration into the skin of different characters and his entry into show business. Extracts from the cat:

Although Arjun Reddy is a Telugu film, he has been watched by moviegoers all over the country. Since Kabir Singh is a remake of the movie, what made you play a role whose graphic is already known?

In recent times, we have not seen many pure and intense love stories. I am a sucker for romantic cinema. I'm happy to have been part of it because I wanted it. I liked Arjun Reddy and the graphic of Priti's character. Working with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, I realized that he had a unique way of interpreting emotions. He was the biggest badet for this movie. He alone could have told the story as it comes from his own experiences. There was not a day on the plateau where he was not meticulous. It's also a story to tell, and one of the reasons we could do it again is because it has universal appeal.

Do you think that for a love story as intense and pbadionate as this, much depends on the chemistry and energy that the stars share?

As an actor, I shoot a lot of my co-stars. When you play a scene, you have to listen to what the other person is saying. Often, we are so caught off guard that we do not pay attention to the other actor in the frame. It is important to be attentive because it helps you to better emit. The co-stars give you so many clues that can improve your performance. Shahid is an excellent co-star and it's easy to bond with him. Besides, this is the only other person I know who is pbadionate about having
lauki ki sabzi in his book
dabba (laughs!). He is a warm and charming family man, who also has this "brother atmosphere". It can be parental sometimes. What surprises me is that he does not smoke or drink, and yet he plays so well with these characters charged with vice. I think the beauty of cinema lies in the fact that it allows you to bring out your alter ego or an extension of your personality without fear of being judged. My character, Priti, is so different from me. I am expressive and speak more when I am nervous, but she restrains herself. His sense of normal is very different from mine. In a way, she is like an alter ego. This film has brought me closer to my emotions. It taught me to internalize emotions and understand that
thehrav and the plot without using dialogues. Trying to play Priti, somewhere, I started to merge Kiara with her. I even considered asking for advice because the party was exhausting.

After Kabir Singh, the good news is coming this year, followed by three projects in preparation. After your debut in 2014, there was a phase during which you did not have much to do. Have you tried introspecting on what works for you now?

Most people thought that MS Dhoni: The untold story was my first film. Few people have seen Fugly, in fact, they confuse that with another movie. As a foreigner in this sector, when you start out, you tend to think that the first project will open the doors. I realized that for the doors to open, your first film should be done well and your performance should be noticed. I did not know that the two, three and four landing projects would be difficult because my first project did not work. That's when I sat down to take stock and understand what was going on. People were not interested in meeting me. It broke my heart. I began to wonder where my career was going and to consider another type of work.

In this scenario, what drove you to stay?

The belief that I could act. I decided that I would not let anyone tell me that I can not act. I decided to dive with determination, even if it meant following the gym routine and asking for an appointment every day, until I did not get what I want. Yes, it can be stressful, and those who are waiting behind the scenes will know what I am talking about. I kept reading scripts until I found something that pleased me. I auditioned for MS Dhoni, and it took me some time to receive the call. People have noticed me in this 30 minute role. It was a mini-high and it became my identity for a while. A week or two later, all the compliments were drying up, life was back to normal and I was back in search of something exciting. I had a list of directors with whom I wanted to work, and Abbas-Mustan was there. I was happy to work in Machine (directed by Abbas-Mustan). It did not work well and I felt bad, but it reinforced my determination. In addition, I do not regret not having shot the film because the people of small towns remind me again of the video clip of Mast Mast that we realized for the film.

Is this the moment when you also decided to give South films a chance?

You never know who your audience is and where you might find them. I saw Baahubali, which made me understand that I could give a shot to Telugu movies. I made two big projects with Ram Charan and Mahesh Babu. I did not know that working there would give me such a large audience. I had a dream launch and the response was fabulous. Now, I want to make a film a year in the South, if I can, because the scenarios are very interesting. Times change and content decides everything. The language and the platform are no longer an obstacle. I realized that staying at home will not help me. The competition is increasing every day. Every year in Bollywood we have five to six new faces, many of whom are star children. When you do not come from this industry, you need time to create a market. You can either be irritated by the competition, stay at home and wait for something to work, or you can go out there and find a way to overcome it. I took Machine and my first Telugu movie because of that. Finally, things evolve as I wish.

In hindsight, was it difficult to manage the discharge during the difficult initial phase?

It's hard not to take that on your chin, but you can survive it if you believe in yourself. If you do not believe that you can make the cut, then who will? When you wonder about your abilities, you also open the door to other people. In the most difficult moments, if I had doubted my ability to act, I would not have gone beyond a single project. I'm glad I did not give up. Constructive criticism is always welcome, but you must know who to take it. You must evolve as an artist. Today, for me, every day is a work in progress. I do not wait for a destination; I'm just savoring the trip.

With many new faces, including young people from the industry, entering the trade, what do you think that works to your advantage? because I am a big fan of Sridevi. In my heart, I know we are all fighting for the same roles because there are only a lot of exciting movies that are filmed. I had my debut some time ago, but I still have that fresh girl look, which works to my advantage. In addition, I was not stereotyped or bracketed. It's inspiring to see comrades do a great job, because it helps the cinema to evolve and each actor benefits.

With a very busy appointment journal, do you think you have the time to have a romantic relationship, knowing that you are a romance lover? Listen, I'm single now. I just want to be with someone who can love me for who I am and vice versa. The relationship must have a deep emotional connection for both of us. You can not be in love with the calculations attached to it. I have seen many people settle down with their high school lovers. They are lucky because their relationship lasted, mine did not (smiles). I would have liked to have my darling in high school too. Honestly, I want to see myself settle with someone I'm madly in love with. The search is in progress …
