KOLKATA: Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) on Saturday proposed to form a joint action committee with Jadavpur University authorities for the prevention of dengue outbreak. The decision was taken after the civic vectorcontrol team found aedes aegypti mosquitoes on the university campus during an inspection.

The KMC vector-control crack team members found a large number of larvae from multiple sites – a construction site opposite Triguna Sen auditorium, a place in between the School of Environmental Studies and the School of Physical Education and an earthen pot near the vice-chancellor's office. However, at the end of the hour-long drive, the civic officials were "satisifed with the improvement in dengue prevention" on the campus compared to last year.
