Piaggio India silently launched a new variant of the Vespa on the Indian market. Known as the Vespa Notte, the new variant of the scooter is priced at Rs. 70,285, ex-Delhi exhibition hall. The Vespa Notte was presented for the first time at the 2018 World Expo in Greater Noida. The scooter is based on the Vespa LX 125.

The Notte translates to "night" in Italian and the scooter gets a whole black theme. Basically, the Notte LX 125 is the obscured version of the Vespa LX 125 and does not get any chrome parts. He looks pretty aggressive and sophisticated on the street. The scooter is only available in single color options, which is matte black. The chrome parts on the Vespa LX 125 are finished in brilliant black in the Vespa Notte. This is a special edition that seems to have been developed for the Indian market. As with the international, the manufacturer offers Vespa GTS Notte, very different from the version for sale in India.
Piaggio has not yet confirmed the launch of the scooter on the Indian market. However, a dealer based in Noida, UP says that they accept bookings on the scooter and deliveries will begin soon. With the rise of 125cc scooters on the market, the Vespa Notte is expected to increase the popularity of the Italian brand. Suzuki recently launched the brand new Burgman Street in the Indian market. However, the Vespa is very different from the Burgman and apart from the same displacement, the two scooters serve completely different customers in the Indian market.
The Vespa Notte is powered by a 125cc three-cylinder single cylinder. engine cooled in the air. The engine develops a maximum of 9.5 Bhp at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 9.9 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel by an automatic CVT transmission.
The Italian manufacturer of scooters offers a range of retro scooters in India. Interestingly, retro-neo bikes like Royal Enfield are extremely popular in India. However, for the scooter segment, retro-bikes are not that popular. Many manufacturers like Yamaha have their retro-neo scooters in the Indian markets.
