MacBook Pro 2018 could come with a powerful Intel Coffee Lake processor

A new performance test reports that Apple probably has a 2018 MacBook Pro under development, which is driven by an Intel Coffee Lake processor, confirming previous speculation that this is the case. A month ago, there is a Geekbench benchmark, and so we have to take it with a pinch of salt – simulating this stuff is far from a possibility.

But baduming it's about money, the benchmark shows the scores of a "MacBookPro15,2" laptop, which, as reported by Cult of Mac, would appear to be a refresh of the 13-inch MacBook Pro (since the current-gen model is & # 39; MacBookPro14,2 & # 39;).

The processor powering the laptop is the Core i7-8559U, which is a quad-core part that runs at 2.7 GHz, and is capable of a beefy turbo at 4.5 GHz. This is quite different from the processor cited in the previous leak, which was the Core i7-8750H – which has six cores, but is clocked more slowly (2.2 GHz with boost at 4.1 GHz).

The i7-8559U benefits from Iris Plus integrated Graphics 655 and has a TDP of 28 W.

Multi-core monster

So how does this pretended MacBook Pro 2018 reworked in the benchmarks with the i7-8559U under the hood? The machine has reached 4,448 in the single-core test, and 16,607 in the multi-core benchmark

Incidentally, the previous leak of the six-core processor indicated a multicore result of 22,316. ​​The six-core could be the CPU powering the 15-inch MacBook Pro, and then, with the i7-8559U quad-core core for the 13-inch model.
