NOIDA: The Ministry of Health on Monday launched the central government's free measles and rubella vaccination program, which will cover more than six district lakh children. For the campaign, 184 teams were trained in the district to administer the vaccine to children aged 9 months to 15 years.

India, along with ten member countries of the WHO Region of Southeast Asia, plans to eliminate measles and control rubella / conbad rubella syndrome (CRS ) by 2020 as part of the program.

Under the leadership of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the vaccination campaign was launched gradually throughout the country and will cover about 41 crore children. On Monday, the program was launched in 193 different localities of the district, including schools, community health centers, primary health centers and aanganwari centers, etc.
