MEERUT: The arrival of the monsoon brings relief of heat waves but it also triggers favorable conditions for mosquito breeding.

"Surveys should also be carried out to check for the presence of larvae in water-filled containers of 20 houses in each village and to notify people in whom larval presence is observed," Saraswat added.

Instructions were also given for taking blood samples from people with fever. "Medical officials of public hospitals, heads of primary and community health centers should develop an action plan to treat dengue patients," added the Saraswat malaria control officer.
