With the Mega Man X Legacy Collection launch next month, fans are very excited for a run through the anthology series Blue Bomber suite, all the more so that there has not been a new X game in a time. For this next collection, Capcom has chosen to return to the original names of the Japanese version; Here is a statement that the company gave to GameSpot about it:
In our mission to make these collections an authentic Mega Man X experience, we have seized the opportunity to better align the Mega Man X5 Mavericks denomination in all regions for better narrative cohesion across the series, making the names more aligned with the original Japanese release version. We hope fans will appreciate our intention to unify the Mega Man X Maverick-Naming convention all these years later.
