Both smartphones will be available exclusively on Amazon India for online sale, but for offline stores, Motorola will sell Moto E5 to all retailers in India, while the E5 Plus will be available in more than 600 Moto Hub stores. Both come in two color options, black and fine gold.
The Moto E5 Plus Amazon India launch offers are applicable for July 11 and July 12 only. The offers include a discount of 800 rupees on the SBI credit card, the exchange of 1,000 additional Rs on the old smartphone, the free EMI option and 130 GB of additional Reliance Jio data valid on plan Rs 198 or Rs 298.
on Moto Hubs as well as for the two Moto E5, E5 Plus smartphones. It includes 1,200 Rs cashback for consumers buying via the QR code of Paytm Mall, and 130 additional Jio data on Rs 198 and Rs 298.
Battery
The biggest highlight of Moto E5 Plus is its mbadive 5000mAh battery, while the smaller Moto E5 variant contains a 4000mAh battery. In addition, Motorola has installed its 18W TurboCharger in the box, which, according to the company, is enough to charge 6 hours in just 15 minutes. While this sounds promising, we will reserve our last comments on this subject unless we thoroughly use it
Design and Display
Upfront, both Moto E5 and Moto E5 look a lot like Moto G6, G6 Play. The Moto E5 features a 5.7-inch (720 × 1440-pixel) IPS HD LCD screen, while the larger Moto E5 Plus version features a 6.0-inch HD + IPS LCD screen with the same resolution as the E5. Both have Max Vision 18: 9 screens. Both also have Moto Display and Moto Actions features. Both models also have a nano-coating resistant to splashing.
In terms of design, we liked the bigger brother, the Moto E5 Plus, as it offers a slightly premium finish with a glbad design at the back. . Speaking of handling both phones, Moto E5 Plus is bigger among the two and hard to handle. Plus, the slippery back does not give a better grip, but that being said, this is not just the E5 Plus, in fact both devices are hard to use with one hand.
Performance and Software
The Moto E5 in India comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 1.4GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. About the Moto E5 Plus, Motorola has changed the processor for India, and it now ships a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 1.4GHz octa-core chipset coupled with 3GB of RAM, instead of the international variant with Snapdragon 435.
[19659002] The Moto E5 and E5 Plus run the latest Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box, which is almost the stock UI. Both devices have two Nano SIM slots and a microSD card slot to increase memory up to 128 GB.
We very much appreciate the experience of the Handhelds software in general because it tends to replicate the idea of Google. It will not be fair for us to judge the performance right away, but from what we can evaluate in a limited time, we think both devices will do a good job with the software-hardware combination.
Camera
] The Moto E5 Plus incorporates a 12-megapixel camera sensor with laser autofocus, PDAF and LED flash. The Moto E5 offers a 13 megapixel rear camera with f / 2.0 and LED flash. Both smartphones in India carry the same 5 megapixel selfie camera with flash lamp.
We had very little time to play around both cameras, and in this limited time, we did not find a rear camera to be impressive. Just to give you a good idea, the camera on Moto G5S Plus or the Moto G6 Play in the same price range tend to click on better images than these two, however, it will be very early to comment on the camera performance. We therefore suggest that you wait for our full review for this.
Final Reflections
The Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus are sold respectively at Rs 9,999 and Rs 11,999. These come in the price range where the likes of Xiaomi and Honor are already doing very well for themselves. Their direct competitions are Honor 9 Lite, Honor 7x, Xiaomi Redmi Y2, Redmi 5 and Redmi Note 5. For Motorola to capture this segment seems a difficult task with these two devices. Both devices look decent, but they only attract consumers looking to buy a device with a big screen and a huge battery capacity.
