A few days ago, AMD announced its Ryzen Threadripper 2990X which should be available very soon. Once again, YouTube's TUM APISAK has detected this CPU in the 3DMark database. In addition, the chip was listed on a German retailer for just over 1500 euros.

The Threadripper 2990X comes with 32 cores and 64 threads, and a TDP of 250W. The 3DMark database shows us some more details about the upcoming chip. The engineering sample spotted on the database includes a base clock of 3.00GHz and a boost speed of 3.80GHz. For the moment we do not know if we look at the final frenomena or we should expect at least 4.0GHz on the clock boost

The screenshot also reveals that this submission has been made by someone testing the processor with the prototype of the motherboard "Whitehaven OPS rev B CF4". According to the latest rumors, AMD is expected to release this CPU in the third quarter of 2018. Next to that, the Threadripper 2990X has been spotted on a German dealer for just over 1500 euros. This price is exact double the Threadripper 1950X which includes half-hearts and threads. Although the price may seem a bit high, Intel sells the Core i9-7980XE 36-wire 36-core for almost 2000 euros.
