On paper, however, there are differences. The OnePlus 6T is slightly larger and thicker (8.2mm vs. 7.9mm) than the OnePlus 6. It also weighs about 8 grams more. Differences in size and weight do not seem important or affect the user experience. The OnePlus 6T seems a bit thicker, but until you put it in a case, which you will inevitably do because the phone is made of glbad and may be scratched. In fact, the black mirror variant of the phone – the one I'm reviewing – is so bright that it shows signs and greasy fingerprints as soon as you start using it. Fortunately, OnePlus comes in a clear plastic case with the phone in its original packaging.

Aside from the dimensions, the OnePlus 6T is identical to the OnePlus 6. It has the same curved edges, the same polished metal frame and the same quality of workmanship.

The main differences in design are two: the notch in drops of water and the integrated fingerprint sensor on the screen. The screen that houses the front camera in the OnePlus 6T is so small that after using the phone for an hour or two, you forget it. This time, OnePlus also managed to remove the edges of the screen, especially on the lower edge. All Android phones have a chin, unlike the iPhone XS or the iPhone XR in which Apple has managed to get rid of this thick black band on the bottom edge of the screen. But the OnePlus 6T's chin is extremely narrow, which OnePlus managed to do because it got rid of the 3.5mm jack.

I have no doubt that the iPhone XS is still the fastest phone on the market, but the OnePlus 6T brings it a lot closer. There is no lag here. In a jiffy, you can switch between open tabs in Chrome, switch between multiple apps with smooth animations and play a game like Real Racing No Limits to infinity. The phone does not warm up alarmingly, the shooting rate remains homogeneous, even 30 minutes after the start of the race with your virtual car, you can at any time switch to another open application and no delay does not occur.

There is a reading mode that turns the screen into monochrome, there is night mode which cuts the blue light emitted by the screen, it is possible to change the positions of the programmable keys, it is possible to set accent colors (very cool) or badign the power button to Google Assistant, you can change the color space of the screen, hide the notch, etc., etc. The OnePlus 6T offers a wealth of customization options, but its interface is pretty close to that of the Android. The result is that users get the best of both worlds, unlike what happens in Samsung or Xiaomi phones, whose unique features hurt the cost of the interface.

The rest of the phone is more regular, but the norm is relative here. The OnePlus 6T is a premium phone and even in areas where it does not excel, it does it well. The speaker for example. The OnePlus 6T comes with a single speaker – most high-end phones now have stereo speakers – but the sound quality is pretty good for a single speaker. The 3.5mm headphone jack is missing, but OnePlus – unlike Apple and Google – provides its phone with a 3.5mm USB-C headphone jack. The OnePlus 6T supports two SIM cards and network performance is good, although when I paired it with a 100 Mbps Wi-Fi connection, it did not match the type of download speed that the iPhone XS or the Galaxy Note 9 handle. But you'll only notice it on 100 Mbps or faster connections.

Battery life is one of the areas in which the OnePlus 6T excels. It comes with a larger battery of 3,700 mAh, which is enough for a day of use or a little more if you do not play with the security by not watching too much videos or not. not using an application with GPS, like Google Maps. Like other OnePlus phones, the OnePlus 6T recharges quickly with the included charger. Fast charging is a feature that is not new to OnePlus phones, but it's still a feature that will make you smile every time you use it.

OnePlus 6T Camera Performance

The hardware is more or less the same here compared to the OnePlus 6. The main rear camera uses the same 16-megapixel sensor badociated with an F1.7 lens. It remains the same 20 megapixel secondary camera with the same F1.7 wide-angle lens. On the front, however, there is a new 20-megapixel camera.

The camera's performance is similar to that offered by OnePlus 6: excellent but not as good as those offered by phones like the Galaxy Note 9 and the Pixel 3 XL. . Do not let this line mislead you. When I say excellent, I really mean it, it's that the OnePlus 6T does not match Pixel 3 XL. No phone.

Well-lit, especially in focused macro shots, the OnePlus 6T displays tons of detail (see photo of the rusty lock). It also captures vibrant colors and generally exposes the image well. As for details and sharpness under good lighting and little light, I will say that OnePlus 6T is good enough to match the likes of the iPhone XS, although I prefer the slightly warmer colors produced by the Apple phone. The OnePlus 6T also features features such as portrait and night mode. Both are decent, but not brilliant. In most cases, especially in good lighting, portrait mode works well, even if the edges of the person you click on may become blurred. Even in low light, it works well (see the portrait photo in the picture examples). Night mode is a mixed bag. Under certain conditions of very low light, it can produce usable photos. It is so practical. But at the same time, it also applies a very aggressive noise reduction during processing, which deprives the images of details (see the names of the books in the example, they are smooth and the letters are gone).

The OnePlus 6T camera can record 4K video as well as slow motion footage at 480 frames per second. These are cool and fun things to have.

Overall, I think the OnePlus 6T has quality cameras (main and selfies) for its price. But this remains an area where, in my opinion, OnePlus has not yet reached the high level set by the much more expensive Galaxy and Pixel phones.

If you buy OnePlus 6T?

Of course. That goes without saying. In fact, if you want to buy a premium phone, the OnePlus 6T is the smart choice. It's a phone that works well in almost every area and even in areas where it could have been better, it's better than average.

At 37,999 rupees for the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB variant, the OnePlus 6T is an excellent choice. It is better than most high-end phones and represents better value than any other phone, high-end or low-end. In some areas, there are specific phones that are better. Like the Pixel 3 XL, he is a champion when it comes to clicking on photos. Or the iPhone XR has the iOS 12 and brilliant speakers, if you like that. But there is no phone, apart from the OnePlus 6T, offering a complete smartphone and Android experience own less than 50 000 UK, or even 60 000 Rs. This makes it an automatic choice.
