A pbadenger died Tuesday night aboard a United Airlines flight from Houston Intercontinental Airport to Houston after a "medical emergency".
United said the 1888 flight had been diverted to the Washington Dulles Airport near Washington, DC, where a medical team met the plane at the door.
"We are saddened to learn that the client is dead," said Jonathan Guerin, a United spokesman. "We offer our most sincere condolences to the family."
Flight attendants noticed something wrong during the flight and alerted the pilot. The pbadengers of the flight watched the episode unfold.
After the diversion, the other pbadengers were placed on another plane and then flown to Boston.
