PSA: Google Pixel 3 broken? Google can not help you for the moment

[ad_1]

As my wife and I discovered this week, Google and uBreakiFix are simply not ready to fix Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL defective devices. In the meantime, you may want to be more careful than usual to prevent what has happened to you from happening to you …

This week, I received a terrible text message from my wife – the one that all technology owners fear. His Pixel 3 XL meets the concrete and makes a bad first impression, breaking the glbad of the back . The beautiful glbad "Pas rose" was now a shell of his former identity. Fortunately, we were well informed about the options available to us, but that did not happen as well.

The Repair Center page of the Google Store was our first destination, but at the time of writing these lines, it does not claim to offer Pixel 3 or 3 XL repairs. Not a good sign. Faced with this, we immediately contacted Google Store support to find out what to do. After being informed of the situation, they finally told us to contact uBreakiFix.

At the time, Google's support page for out-of-warranty repairs did not list the manufacturer's repair facilities . Pixel 3, but since then, uBreakiFix has been added to the list. They've been working with Google for a long time, offering same-day repairs for the original Pixel and Pixel 2 phones. We are located near New Orleans, so this was our next destination.

We made an appointment for an online repair and left. Before our arrival, the uBreakiFix store called to inform us that they were not offering same day service, but would still need to badess the damage. After the badessment, they gave us a price of $ 110 and a promise to call us as soon as the coins would arrive, probably within two weeks.

Today, three days later, we were greeted instead with a call informing us that uBreakiFix has no idea of when the necessary components will come in. The only component that they could master for Pixel 3. That's the battery.

Short story: Google does not fix faulty Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL devices yet, and instead sends people to uBreakiFix. Our local uBreakiFix is currently out of stock and does not even expect to get repair components – with the exception of the battery – of the Pixel 3 or the Pixel 3 XL in the foreseeable future. This means that my wife's new phone is currently damaged without recourse. (Another national repair service, Puls, can also repair Pixel 3 devices, but currently only in San Francisco.)

This is not an isolated case either. There are a handful of reports through Reddit on users who can not have their device repaired by uBreakiFix. A report calls for a waiting period of one month for his device to be repaired. Another quotes uBreakiFix as not being able to get the adhesive needed to reattach the back glbad. This is clearly a widespread problem.

Update : A representative of uBreakiFix made a comment, clarifying the situation behind the delays, including the current method of storage for device maintenance.

Seamlessly, there A limited amount of OEM screens Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL is temporarily available. We hope to have these parts in all uBreakiFix stores for the same day repairs in the coming weeks. To clarify, uBreakiFix stores are currently able to move these coins to our distribution center, and that's what you and your readers can expect while stocks last in each store, which will then allow us to provide same-day repair service for these devices. We have explained this process to all of our stores and we want to make sure your readers will be aware that they can have their Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL repaired.

It is interesting to me that it is a delivery within 24 hours. This option was not mentioned by our local store, but it matches the uBreakiFix positive experience reported by some readers in the comments. If you end up with a broken device, give your local uBreakiFix a chance and mention its night capacity if that does not happen.

The uBreakiFix representative said that he would keep me informed of the date on which same-day repairs would be available. ] Full Disclosure: uBreakiFix also included a free repair offer for my wife's device.

(To be clear, if you are having problems with your Pixel 3 that are not accidental damage and are covered by the warranty, the Google Customer Service .This was pretty good to meet the needs of the buyers – I talk about uncovered damage if it was not obvious.)

All in all, this is a poor customer service for a company that is trying to sell a fragile glbad cloth phone at a price that is without doubt a premium. I think this problem will be solved soon, but for now, it's not a good time to become a Pixel owner who made this all-too-common mistake. Put a holster on your Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL if you do not want this to happen to you.
