  • Realme has quietly raised the prices of two of his phones in India. This comes just days after the company's chairman, Madhav Seth, hinted that a price hike would occur after Diwali due to the rupee's decline. The prices of Realme C1 and Realme 2 rose by Rs 1000 on Flipkart. The entry-level C1 Realme is now available at Rs 7,999, while the Realme 2 is priced at Rs 9,499 for the base variant. The prices of Realme 1 and Realme 2 remain unchanged to this day.

The Realme 2 was launched in August with a starting price of 8,990 rupees for the 3 GB + 32 GB variant. This variant is now priced at Rs 9,499 on Flipkart. Meanwhile, the 4GB + 64GB variant sees no price change and continues to sell for Rs 10,990. The Realme C1 was announced in September at Rs 6,999. At the launch, Realme said that 39, it was an introductory price for the holiday season. The price has now been increased by Rs 1,000 and is now available on Flipkart at Rs 7,999.

Madhav Seth tweeted a few days ago that the fall of the rupee was having a negative impact on a brand like Realme that works low margins. The price hike has only affected the Realme C1 and Realme 2 at the moment. The Realme 1 sold on Amazon India still has the same starting price of 10,990 rupees. The Realme 2 Pro, which is the most disturbing phone to date, is also sold on Flipkart at the same starting price of 13,990 RS.

The Realme 2 and Realme C1 models are quite similar in terms of design and hardware. Both phones are equipped with a 6.2 inch HD + screen with a notch. Both are powered by a Snapdragon 450 chipset and house a 4,230 mAh battery. In addition, both phones offer a 13 MP + 2 MP camera configuration at the rear. However, the front camera is different, the Realme 2 getting a sensor of 8 MPa while the C1 receiving a sensor of 5 MPa.

There is no word yet whether Realme plans to raise the price of its other phones after Diwali. The company is also planning to launch another phone before the end of the year, which will be the first phone to come with the new Helio P70 chipset. It will be interesting to see if Realme will be able to maintain its competitive pricing strategy for its future products.
