A few days ago, WWE announced that former Universal champion, Roman Reigns, would make his long-awaited return to Monday Night Raw next week. Reigns has been out of action since he announced that his leukemia had recurred and he would need time to cure his illness. Since then, we have had sporadic updates on his health from many WWE superstars. However, he will provide an update on his Raw treatment.
The WWE universe is beginning to speculate on the surprises that WWE and Roman reserve for them, some even suggesting that a full-time return to the ring could be announced by the "Big Dog". The chances of this happening are extremely low, because just four months ago, Roman had revealed that he was fighting leukemia. Everything will be clear when Roman regain the red mark for the first time since his retirement from the WWE Universal Championship in October.
Reigns coach David Gonyea then fanned the fire by posting on Instagram that he was happy to prepare Roman for his return to the ring. Roman had taken a bit of time to shoot for the upcoming Hobbs & Shaw movie (starring his cousin Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson) and was training in Waikiki. Gonyea had posted a photo of the two where he was talking about Roman's training.
"Had the absolute honor and privilege of being coached by Roman Reigns to Island Club and Spa while in Waikiki!" It was very humbling for an athlete of his caliber not only to train here, but also to say how much our institution was highly respected, "said Gonyea on Instagram.
However, Gonyea clarified his comments on Roman's return to the ring, stating that it was unlikely that this would happen in the short term. "Man, he is still recovering. He will not be in action for a few months … keep in mind what is leukemia … and that he was in remission, it was a talent for which he needed to have it. 39, a treatment, "Gonyea." I worked with him and he was definitely in slow motion. It's the PG era when they do not work against cancer. "
