Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus Review: Overrated, but the display and rock drums life!

Samsung A Series A Samsung Phones are mid-range offerings that eliminate the more sophisticated features of the flagship products of the S-Series. With these phones, Samsung is trying to offer a product-specific offer. resource optimization, but that must compete with Huawei and OnePlus. The Galaxy A6 Plus, featuring Samsung's signature Infinity Display OLED, has been launched alongside the Galaxy A6 and J6. At Rs 25,999, the phone certainly has some work to do. Is this Samsung midrange traditionally too expensive to keep up to date? That's what I'm trying to find out. For my tests, I received a black Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus with 4GB of RAM and a 64GB storage.

At first glance, the A6 Plus certainly seems to have it all. With a flawless camera for daytime photos, a sturdy and basic design, flowing software and a fantastic OLED display, it could actually make the cut.

Build and Design: 6/10

The first thing to note is that Samsung's flagship stores are the only ones to possess a true display in the infinite. The one on the A6, while it's called an Infinity screen, does not curve on the edges as do the best Samsung screens.

The phone does not only have a big screen, it is also large in the set. It's also heavy (191 grams). Weight, size and metal finish mean that the phone tends to slip from my hands with relative ease. If you have small hands, getting used to the size can be a difficult task and operating something as simple as volume controls can be a bit difficult.

Outside of the display, the design is pretty commonplace. The metal back of the phone is a smear magnet (you may need to wipe the stains several times for it to come off). It has a dual camera configuration with a flash set perfectly at the back of the phone with a fingerprint sensor underneath. The only speaker on the phone is above the power button on the right of the phone. Unusual placement indeed, but normal for Samsung Series A phones.

The four edges of the handset are curved with visible antenna strips on both sides of the phone, which complements the black handset.

On the top of the screen is the front camera with a flash and a proximity sensor.

Features: 7/10

The Samsung A6 Plus sports a 6.0-inch FHD + Super AMOLED display (1080 × 2200) with a screen ratio of 18.5: 9. Both phones are delivered in a 3GB / 4GB RAM variant with 64GB internal storage. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC that includes a 1.8GHz octa-core processor and an Adreno 506 GPU. phone contains a battery of 3500 mAh. It has a microSD + SIM slot and a unique SIM slot. This is placed below the volume buttons.

The phone has a 6-inch FHD + super AMOLED display in a large 18.5: 9 format. LCD screen, the OLED screen has a soothing brightness. The display colors are rich and not very bright, which works perfectly. It was neat and clearer than the other displays I'm used to.

I noticed some striking red and orange colors while watching videos. However, the red seemed closer to fluorescent orange, which is a common problem with Samsung's cheaper OLED panels. Regardless of light color problems, the experience while watching videos is immersive and profound.

The viewing may seem seamless but the glbades are remarkably present. Samsung.

The viewing may seem transparent but the glbades are obviously present. Samsung.

I hardly had to adjust the brightness of the phone even in the light of day reading, watching videos, or surfing on social media platforms, and in addition, it did not stress the eye. Even in total darkness, I could read or surf with great ease without having to adjust the brightness. Congratulations to Samsung for setting the automatic brightness setting correctly.

Software: 7/10

The treatment of Samsung on Android by his phone is obviously not-maternal. It has so much of its own that one really wonders if they are using Android or a Samsung experience.

The user interface, Samsung Experience 9.0, is based on Android Oreo 8.0.

An interesting feature in the software was the & # 39; Chat Over Video & # 39; feature where you can chat and watch videos simultaneously. It reminds me of WhatsApp's PIP mode. It's actually quite handy to switch to this mode while watching videos since WhatsApp chats appear as you can see below. By tapping on the pop-up window, the WhatsApp chat opens but halfway so that it does not disrupt your viewing experience. But the seizure can be a problem. The Samsung keyboard has too many things in one place that becomes problematic in this mode, but it can turn out to be a lifesaver if you are on the lookout. In addition, the cat is translucent, so you can see the video recommendations of YouTube below. Not all apps are supported in this mode, and Telegram, for example, behaves differently.

Meanwhile, Samsung's Bixby Vision is also included. This is an AI-powered object recognition engine that seems accurate enough to guess what an object is. Additional features include Smart Things for connected devices, Samsung Pay for UPI payments and Samsung Mall, among others.

Camera-7/10

I do not think that smartphone makers like Apple and OnePlus care more about camera placement. I do not understand how it does not bother their designers to see a camera projecting itself in the back.

Call it OCD, but I personally have a problem if a phone is not smooth and the positioning of a camera plays a big part in it. In Samsung A6 Plus, the camera is mounted as comfortably as it was in a mold. It is neither innovative, nor radically different, but clbadic and gives me a serenity that few other phones can muster.

It has a dual camera configuration, 16 MP (f / 1.7) + 5 MP (f / 1.9), on the back, with an LED flash next to it. At the front, it has a 24 MP sensor (f / 1.9). The camera works perfectly well in daylight mode. The colors stand out well, close to the natural with visible fine details, and very little noise.

However, when it comes to low light, the camera also lacks details and colors. Small details in the images, which were otherwise visible in the light of day, appear blurred and with a visible noise in the background.

 Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus

For Portrait Modes, there is a Live Focus button. The camera gives a good bokeh effect where the subject and the background can be perfectly distinguished. Plus, it also has a background blur feature where you can manually adjust the blur.

In the case of a front camera, there is also a Selfie mode, but I prefer the natural look. The Selfie mode in A6 Plus is not as convincing as the automatic mode. In the first, the phone lacks a margin here and there and the bottom is a messy blur. This makes the selfies sweet. Personally, he does not take photos worthy of my social media feeds in this mode. I would say that the automatic mode is much better.

The camera has some fun stickers that you can use to add a little humor to your photos.

Performance: 7/10

Initially, the phone was smooth However, over time, I faced minor stuttering on the phone. The loaded Bixby software becomes visibly heavy and you can feel the extra tension on the device by sweeping.

I played Tekken 3 and Fruit Ninja and I experienced a slight shift. In Tekken 3 it took a long time to load and I noticed stuttering the second time when I used it to play the game. I faced minor stuttering with lighter games like Fruit Ninja

Speaking of gambling, if you even try to play on this phone, and that it has a landscape, phone mode. You might need an extra pair to support it further! Adding to that the volume button at the bottom which was a troublesome obstacle when playing.

Video calls went well and voice calls could be heard clearly.

In terms of audio experience, I must say, Samsung could have done better. It has a speaker at the top of the phone on the right corner and the absence of a second speaker is audible at home whenever you listen to this high-powered mono speaker

In fact , the worst is the fact that you can accidentally cover the speaker when you watch videos, an error that any regular smartphone user will do.

When it's time to unlock the phone, the face unlock function may take a few more seconds to read your face. use it more, it's better. For people with glbades like me, removing your specifications every time can become boring, so a fingerprint sensor should be your go-to unlock system.

Battery-8/10

Packed with a 3500 mAh battery, I was still impressed by the endurance of the phone. When I performed our standard PCMark battery test, he calculated that the battery life was 12 hours.

One day, I constantly check social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, in addition to using Telegram and Slack, I also use the phone to make audio and video calls on WhatsApp for almost an hour and watch some videos on YouTube. By the time I decide to hit the bed at night, I still have 33% battery left, which was amazing.

The other days I watch the videos, which means almost five hours of non-stop video, the drums lasted until the evening (4 percent). These days also include regular use of social media, video calls and WhatsApp audio.

Verdict and Price in India

The Samsung A6 Plus is a good, robust and reliable phone if you want to buy a phone that stays true to you. The display is soothing and not hard, thanks to the OLED screen. It has everything you want in your phone to meet your basic needs. However, the problem lies in its price which is Rs 25,000. You can get similar qualities in a Nokia 7 Plus that looks better, is more powerful, has better battery, camera and speakers and sells just for Rs 1,000 more on Amazon.

The A6 Plus is a complete package, but the overtaxed label leaves a desire.
