It works at least on mice.

The pursuit of humanity for eternal youth has taken a big step forward. Scientists would have discovered a way to reverse wrinkles and hair loss caused by aging.

The study was conducted at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and involved mice and mitochondria. For those who have not studied biology in school, mitochondria produce 90% of the energy used by our cells, and their function decreases as we get older. This is what causes most of the annoying signs of aging, such as the loss of your hair and wrinkles.

During the study, scientists activated a mutation in mice that mimicked this mitochondrial dysfunction. They noted graying, hair loss and the appearance of wrinkles in a few weeks.

When they extinguished this mutation, the signs of aging were reversed, and the mice returned to their youth, without wrinkles. The study published in Cell Death & Disease acknowledges that any benefit to humans is a little bit long, it can not be denied that it is one of a kind great step forward in the fight against aging.
