Sting recently spoke to Wrestling Travel whom he would face if he chose to come out of retirement. Not surprisingly, The Icon stated that The Deadman was his only choice
Sting's idea against The Undertaker is an idea that has been debated for years in fan circles. Why did this match never happen? When Sting arrived in the company in 2014, the opportunity to make him appeal to Taker was there, but the WWE did not take it.
Sting addressed this topic during the interview.
"I mean, everyone knows who that would be. Taker is the only guy for whom I'm leaving retirement at the moment. Nobody else. We simply could not get it together for that to happen. When I started talking to WWE, he was booked with Brock, then I signed the agreement with Triple H and he had another quarrel at that time. So it was one of those things that we could not achieve.
Undertaker has no opponent WrestleMania 35 at this point. Sting is open to face the Phenom in a final match. So why should not the WWE finally advance with this game?
The fact is that Sting is 60 years old and Undertaker 53 years old. anywhere where near where they were before. But if they are in good health and everything is consistent, it is possible that both legends clash on the biggest stage of all.
But again, this may be nothing more than another missed opportunity. Maybe Sting and Taker are just not supposed to come together after all.
