In the film, Hrithik plays the role of the mathematician Anand Kumar and his famous educational program Super 30. Anand Kumar trains the underprivileged candidates of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) to allow them to take the entrance examination of the prestigious institute.

The first posters of the film were unveiled in September 2018 and have stormed the Internet. In various media, after the mathematician was accused of fraudulent results in 2018, the manufacturers decided to no longer qualify their film as biopic.
