At the Nintendo 2018 E3 presentation, one of the biggest revelations was that the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – released December 7, 2018 on the Nintendo Switch – would include all the characters in the history of Super Smash Bros., including those who were in the past, there were downloadable content (DLC), as well as news in the Splatoon and Ridely Inklings of the Metroid series.
But it's not the same thing for the scenes, the arenas you're fighting on. A recent press demo, covered by the Japanese video game magazine Famitsu and translated by the Source Gaming game site, revealed that all stages of the story of Super Smash Bros. will not go to Ultimate, unlike the characters. "All the past stages will not be in the game, but many of them will be," tweeted last Tuesday.
In a follow-up tweet Source Gaming pointed out that "the questions and answers were probably edited by Famitsu for brevity and translated from English to Japanese, which introduces a potential for misunderstanding" .
