Tata Tiago JTP and Tata Tigor JTP: Five Things to Know

[ad_1]

We are now very impressed by the conduct of JTp Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor. And that's not really a surprise considering the tremendous work the JT SpecialVehicles team put into both cars. Here are some of the highlights.

Style

The cars are equipped with a hood vent, new glossy black details on the grille, new bumpers with a larger lower grille and a rear bumper with subtle diffuser. There are two-pipe exhausts and JTP inserts on the radiator grille, the new wing vents and the rear.

Other changes to the exterior styling include the new dual-projector headlamps seen for the first time on the recent Tigor facelift, albeit with a chrome finish. There is also a new design for diamond-cut alloys, new side skirts, a rear spoiler and a contrasting black rearview mirror.

All these style changes work well, more in the Tiago JTP than in the Tigor JTP. . They translate the more focused attitude of these cars towards the driver's involvement. All new elements are well badembled, functional and never feel stuck.

Interiors

The changes here are not as extensive as they are outside, but everything that has been done is working well.
– black interior with contrasting red accents, new leather-wrapped steering wheel. The seat fabric is also new and is adorned with red stitching, just like the gear lever and steering wheel. There are also pedals in aluminum finish. The Tiago and the Tigor JTP both benefit from a new eight-speaker configuration for the infotainment system, two front airbags and ABS as standard.

The new steering wheel helps to reduce the disadvantages of the standard car with regard to the driving position. and feels good to hold. The shifter is nice to hold too, but the long throws are a little disappointing. The seats come from the standard car and do not bring anything to the driving experience, even if they are comfortable.

Engine

The JTP binoculars receive a new type of 1.2 liter turbocharged Revotron three-cylinder gasoline. This is Nexon's gasoline engine, but JT Special Vehicles has it tinkered. Both cars have this unit that produces 114 hp and 150 Nm. Compared to 85PS / 114 Nm of standard cars, the performance is offset by new intake and exhaust systems. Tata Motors also said it worked on optimizing the five-speed manual transmission by reducing ratios. Given the sporting curve of these cars, the eco mode has been removed and urban and sport driving modes are available.

These changes work well in practice. The engine is very handy and turbo response time is not a problem. Shorter ratios always keep the engine in powerband meat. The engine runs at 5,500 rpm in city mode where the torque is limited to 115 Nm, it goes to 5,900 laps in Sport where the full 150 Nm are available. A noticeable shock is underway after the 3,500 rpm mark.

Driving and Handling

JT Special Vehicles worked on suspension tuning, brake recalibration and steering. There are also new 15-inch 185-inch 185 section claw tires specially developed for these cars. All of this helped make cars a good driver. The ride quality is good in urban conditions and the cars are also tuned to highway speed.
Show them a section of twisties and the cars are spinning well, respect their trajectory and undershoot the limit. The new rubber offers an impressive level of adhesion. The reaction of the brakes is good and the steering is precise and well weighed.
The minor disadvantage is the lack of disc brakes, a steering that does not weigh enough under load and a body roll when the car is shown. a section of difficult curves.

Price

This is where the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP scored the most points, they cut the cars available in India, which they keep on paper and in what they offer to the driver, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS and the VW Polo GT TSI. The Tiago JTP is priced at Rs 6.39 lakh while the Tigor JTP, even with the body style of the sedan, will cost you Rs 7.49 lakh. This corresponds to a total of Rs 89,000 compared to Rs 8,38 lakh Baleno RS and Rs 1.73 lakh 1.73 lakh. This difference increases further for the TTP JTP at 1.99 lakh Rs and 2.83 Lakh for the STI RS and GT, respectively.
