An update from Fortnite reads: "In-match on Saturday before 10:30 PT / 1:30 pm ET / 7:30 pm CET and look to the sky."
The message in the game confirms previous speculation that the countdown going on at Fortnite indicates a big event that will happen in real time.

Fortnite fans were waiting (im) patiently to discover what a countdown in the game leads to since a mysterious skull appeared more than a week ago. And if new relationships are to be believed, all that will happen is only a single event.
YouTuber Elliott Popular "Muselk" Watkins popular tweeted early this morning that "something big" will happen at 1:30 pm ET / 10:30 pm PT tomorrow, and this will not happen " only once. " While Watkins refused to provide additional information, The Verge reported hearing similar rumors.
Shortly after the skull appeared on TVs, players noticed a hologram on the rocket. A datamine would have revealed text for a launch sequence that players could initiate themselves.
